Tweedies Bar
It's not every hotel that can brag about its own pub, but the stone flagged floor and wood burning stove remind you that this is a true Lake District pub. Stepping into Tweedies Bar after a long day on the fells is like stepping into a little piece of heaven. Unwind in front of the log burning fire, relax with a pint of our award winning guest ales and satisfy your appetite with a hearty meal. It's also worth noting that it's the only place in Grasmere with its own beer garden. But it is also so much more than this. With a carefully selected wine list, plus the ever-changing wines of the month, there is something there for even the most refined of palates.
The food at Tweedies Bar is well known throughout the area and widely reputed as the best pub food around. There is a rich and varied menu served both lunchtimes & evenings as well as a frequently changing specials board which features local and seasonal produce prepared in an innovative and tempting style.

There are also seven guest ale pumps and a traditional scrumpy pump; regulars include Caledonian Deuchars IPA, Westons Ciders, Theakston's Old Peculier and others guests from Cornwall to Shetland as well as a range of local ales from: Coniston Brewery, Yates Brewery, Keswick and The Watermill Breweries to name but a few. Tweedies Bar has been awarded CAMRA Westmorland Branch Pub of the Season for spring 2007 and is runner up for pub of the year for 2009.
With a pub quiz every Thursday & live music every Saturday there is always something going on to keep you entertained, especially on the first weekend of September with The Grasmere Guzzler beer & music festival.
