Tweedies Bar
The stone flagged floor and wood burning stove remind you that this is a country pub, but it is also so much more than this. With a carefully selected wine list, plus the ever-changing wines of the month, there is something there for even the most refined of palates.
The food on offer at is a fusion of traditional pub fayre and contemporary European cuisine. There are the old classics such as steak and ale pie and Cumberland sausage as well as modern favourites such as our Half pound Hawkshead pheasant burger and Holker Hall Venison rump with sage and Parmesan polenta, roast fennel, broccoli puree and a ruby port jus.
There are also seven guest ale pumps and a traditional scrumpy pump; regulars include The Timothy Taylor award winning range of beers others from Cornwall to Shetland and a range of local ales from; Coniston Brewery, Yates Brewery, Tirrel, Keswick and Hawkshead Breweries to name but a few. Tweedies Bar has been awarded CAMRA Westmoorland Branch Pub of the Season for spring 2007.
The more intimate setting of The Lodge Restaurant, set within the main hotel also serves this wide ranging menu. The sumptuous surroundings, flickering candlelight and personal service make for a perfect, special evening.
